The Hilbert Transform

Oğuz Yılmaz

Abstract: The Hilbert transformation is essentially a singular integral operator whose kernel is not locally integrable. It was first invented by David Hilbert to study the Riemann problem, which is now known as the Riemann-Hilbert problem. It is intimately related to the Fourier transform and the study of differential equations in the complex plane. It is a useful tool in various areas of mathematics and engineering; such as harmonic analysis and signal processing.
